HOW TO SIGN IN TO
KANOPY

WHEN ON CAMPUS

Go to Kanopy.​​ You should be auto-logged in when on campus and if you're using the school wifi. At this page, you do not need to log in, but you have the option of creating your own account to curate the clips you want to use or share. Choose "Sign up" to do this (not login).​​

FOR PARENTS: View the Kanopy weblink, username and password at the UWCSEA library passwords page.

STEP 1: To access this page, login with your UWCSEA username. For parents, this is the UWCSEA username you use when accessing the UWCSEA portal.

STEP 2: Click the Kanopy logo. Use the username and password provided to login to the Kanopy account.

FOR STUDENTS/STAFF:
STEP 1: Go to UWCSEA Kanopy.
​
STEP 2: Click the red 'View the UWCSEA collection' button. Click the red 'login to UWCSEA' button.

STEP 3: Sign in to your UWCSEA Google email account and you will be logged in to the Kanopy account.​​

WHEN OFF CAMPUS
I'm a teacher at UWCSEA. Can I show a film on Kanopy to a large group of students?

You can show Kanopy videos to groups of students, though admission cannot be charged. ​​Here's a link to a Kanopy playlist of family-friendly movies.​

The school has an umbrella licence to show movies in school but this does not permit you to show content using your personal streaming subscriptions.
Please remember that having a personal subscription to Netflix or Apple TV does not mean it is okay to use them in a classroom, or any other public space. The subscriptions specifically state that they are for personal use only. Playing in a classroom or anywhere in a school is not personal use.
Can I access Kanopy on my phone?

Yes.

STEP 1: First, you need to sign up for an account on the Kanopy website.
​
STEP 2: Then go to MY MEMBERSHIPS and associate your account with UWCSEA. If you sign up for an account on campus, it should automatically associate your membership with UWCSEA.

STEP 3: Download the Kanopy app from iTunes or Google Play Store.
​
STEP 4: Go to the app, and click 'GET STARTED' - FIND UNIVERSITY (search for United World College).
​
STEP 5: Head to this UWCSEA library passwords page to view the Kanopy UWCSEA username and password to key into the app.

STEP 6: On the Kanopy app, go to LOGIN (top left), and login with your Kanopy account details created in Step 1.​​
