E-BOOKS ON YOUR
E-READER*
​​​*NOTE:This will not work for Kindle devices.
​​​STEP 1: Connect your e-reader to your laptop via a cable. Make sure you have a stable wifi connection too.
​​​STEP 2: Using your laptop, go to uwcsea.borrowbox.com.
Sign in to your Borrowbox account using your UWCSEA gapps email before moving to the next step.
STEP 3: Look for the book you wish to borrow and click 'Loan'. ​

​​​​STEP 4: If you do not have Adobe Digital Editions, click "ADOBE DIGITAL EDITIONS" (boxed in red below). You will need the software to download the book, and transfer it to your e-reader.
STEP 5: After clicking 'Adobe Digital Editions' you will be brought to another webpage. Select the correct operating system (Mac or Windows), to download the software.
​​​​STEP 6: Once you've downloaded the Adobe Digital Editions software, install it by double clicking on this .pkg file icon:​
Using Pressreader when off campus​​
​​​​STEP 7: Click agree.​
​​​​STEP 8: Follow the next few steps to complete the download process.​
​​​​STEP 9: Go back to Borrowbox on your web browser. Now, click the Download for eReader button in green.​
​​​​STEP 10: The book will be downloaded as a .pkg file. Double click to open it.​
​​​​STEP 11: You will see an Authorization window pop up in Adobe Digital Editions. Select 'Adobe ID' under eBook vendor, then click ' Create an Adobe ID'. This is to authorize your laptop and e-reader to read and transfer protected files.
​​​​STEP 12: Sign up using your UWCSEA gapps email​ and fill in the rest of the fields.
​​​​STEP 13: Once you're done, you should see the following sign below. Click 'OK'.
​​​​STEP 14: Navigate to the 'Borrowed' tab under Adobe Digital Editions. You will see the ebook here. Drag the ebook over to your e-reader icon on the left column, and drop it over the e-reader. This will start the transfer process.
The book should now be in your e-reader. To check, simply click on the e-reader tab under 'Devices'. You should see the ebook's thumbnail in there.
NOTE: If the drag and drop action doesn't work, please eject the e-reader, unplug it and then re-plug it into your laptop again. Do Step 14 again to transfer the ebook file to your e-reader.​
​​​​STEP 15: Once you've completed the previous step, eject the e-reader from your laptop, and unplug it. You should see the book in your device now.
