CHECKING IN/OUT BOOKS IN CLASS

If you're a teacher or staff, here's how you can check in/out books to students in class using your mobile phone or iPad.

Download the Destiny Back Office app

Head to App Store to download the app by clicking here, or searching for 'Destiny Back Office'.

1. Key in 'UWCSEA East', followed by the appropriate library (e.g. Secondary or Primary Library). Select the right pop-up option.

FAQs

FAQs

I am experiencing tech issues with the app. What should I do?

Try the following:

  • Log out of your Follett Destiny Back Office app account and log in again. Click here to see instructions on how to log in.

  • If re-logging in doesn't work, check your iOS. It should be upgraded to the latest iOS version. Restart your device after updating the iOS, and login to the app again.

  • If you're still facing issues, please email us at libraryeast@gapps.uwcsea.edu.sg

I've forgotten my Destiny Back Office app password. How do I reset it?

Please email us at libraryeast@gapps.uwcsea.edu.sg to have your password reset. You should create a new password after you've successfully logged in.

Why can't I scan a book's barcode via the app on my Android device?

The Follett Destiny app automatically prevents Android devices from accessing the camera for barcode scanning. You will have to key in the barcode manually to check in or out a book if you're using an Android device.

We highly recommend using the app on Apple devices. There are iPads available for staff borrowing at the IT department should you need one.

Can I help a student extend a due date for a book on the app?

Unfortunately, the app doesn't allow teachers/staff to directly select a longer due date for a book, beyond the default loan period of 2 weeks. One way to go about this is by checking out the book again via the app the following day (or the last day of the return period) to renew the book.

To do so, simply go to the 'Check Out' tab, key in the student's name and scan the book's barcode again. You will see the following notification. Tap 'Allow':

IMG_8276.PNG

To extend loan periods for general textbooks, please approach any of the library staff, or email us at libraryeast@gapps.uwcsea.edu.sg.

For students or English Dept. teachers who are borrowing English textbooks for more than 2 weeks, please approach Ms. Norrina, the English Dept's teaching assistant. She will be able to extend the loan dates for students from English classes.
